The October 2022 student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is Eva Butler, a 10th-grade student, currently living in India. Eva has enjoyed the experience and travel opportunities of living in both the United States and India.
Eva was nominated by her Spanish teacher, Mrs. Zwick who describes Eva as a student that goes above and beyond expectations. “Eva is motivated to learn the Spanish language. She has completed more of the course than any other student and her work is high quality with a focus on details. I know that when I give her feedback, she will apply it.”
While Mrs. Zwick nominated Eva based on her academic performance, she wanted to celebrate Eva’s spiritual growth. Mrs. Zwick was inspired by Eva’s reflection in which Eva said “We should not just study our Bible every day because we are required to do so. It should be something we are excited about and have an interest in.”
My ICA Story
This is my third year at ICA. When my in-person school in India went online during Covid we couldn’t join live calls while we were in the USA so it wasn’t working well and we started looking for other online schools. Someone recommended it and we decided to enroll.
Why I Love ICA
I know clearly what I have to do each day. I also love that I can go back to any lesson to study. I was surprised at how amazing it was to learn at a Christian-based school. I did not have the experience in my old school. ICA helped me learn so many new things.
My Favorite Subject
My favorite subject right now is “New Testament survey”. I have found the class really interesting and I love how I learn so many tiny details about the Gospels.
My Family
I have two siblings, a younger sister and a brother. We all play soccer so we usually play outside every day with other kids in our neighborhood.
My Hobbies
I like to play piano, soccer, bake, play card games with friends and do art.
My Dream Job
I am not really sure. I am thinking about studying graphic design in college so maybe a job related to that.
My Words of Wisdom
“Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ All the people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things. And your Father in heaven knows that you need them. The thing you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what God wants. Then all these other things you need will be given to you. So don’t worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries.”
