- College-level Courses: All Universal Learner Courses (ULC) are college-level, rigorous courses. Courses are taught by ASU faculty. Credit received for the course is identical to credit received in an on-campus class.
- No risk: If a student receives an “A”, “B” or “C” they are eligible to convert to credit. If they choose not to convert to credit, the course does not appear on their college transcript.
- Affordability: Ignite Christian Academy students to enroll in ASU Universal Learner Courses at the same cost as regular ICA tuition.
- Programs: Take single courses and/or complete requirements towards one of two mastery certificates: Applied Business Data Analytics; Project Management.
- Courses are offered as either 8-week or 16-week courses. All courses require about 135 hours of work. Students should be prepared to work up to two hours per day in each dual enrollment course.
- Students must enroll according to the ASU academic calendar. Typically there is one start date per semester for 16 week courses and two start dates per semester for 8 week courses.
- ICA is only allowing instructor-led courses to be available for enrollment. ASU self-paced courses are not available to ICA students at this time.
- Courses are large-scale, with many courses exceeding 1,000+ learners.
- Due to the scale of the Universal Learner Courses, direct and/or private access and communication to the instructor is limited.
- There are some limitations due to the large-scale of ASU courses:
- Course start dates cannot be adjusted
- Course schedules cannot be adjusted
- Extensions cannot be granted as the LMS platform can only open assignments for ALL students at a time.
- Late work cannot be accepted

*Juniors and seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher and a minimum ACT or SAT score are eligible to participate in the dual credit program. Dual credit students are not required to attend Houston Baptist after graduation. If a student chooses not to attend the partner college, he or she may negotiate a transfer of dual credits to their college of choice upon high school graduation. Ignite Christian Academy recommends that you check with your college of choice to determine how the transfer of credits will be handled.
