Meet our August student of the month, Nash Payne. He’s a middle school student with a variety of hobbies that range from music and art to archery and target shooting.
My ICA Story
I first learned about Ignite Christian Academy when my parents were searching for an online Christian school for my brother and me to attend. I recently completed my first year as a student, and I plan on continuing my studies at ICA until I graduate from high school.
We recently moved to our ranch in Paradise Valley, Montana, which is in the rural countryside. Attending ICA online has made it possible to live in the country but still get an accredited Christian education.
The Best Thing about Ignite Christian Academy
My favorite part of distance learning is the flexibility I have to plan my every day around my school schedule. I have also been pleasantly surprised by the kindness and support of all of my teachers and the staff. I am confident that if I have a concern or problem that there is always someone willing to help me.
Favorite Subject
My favorite subject so far has to be math, because I like to test my ability to solve equations in real life situations.
My Family
I have an older sister and an older brother. My sister Sierra sadly passed away as an infant from leukemia. My brother Noah, who is going to be a sophomore at ICA, is my best friend. We are two years apart, and we spend a lot of time together having fun.
Hobbies & Activities
My hobbies include singing, drawing, photography, archery, target shooting, swimming, and playing the violin. I have been active in the performing arts both as a musician and as an actor. I was nominated by my music teacher for the Montana State University Youth Chorale for three years, which gave me the opportunity to perform with the university musicians. I also had the lead role in my previous school’s play. In addition, I am a fourth-year violin student and enjoy performing at my yearly recitals.
I like to spend my free time playing games and watching movies with my brother. I also like to spend time with my family outdoors, traveling, and having fun.
Others would be surprised to learn that I have a very high vocal range for a boy. I also recently surprised myself when I won both the grand champion and first place ribbons in our county fair for my photo entry of a fawn. It was the first time I have ever submitted any of my photography.
Dream Job
If I could have any job in the world I would want to be a Broadway performer, because it is fun to act, sing, and dance in front of a live audience.
Words of Wisdom
If I could offer some advice to my fellow ICA classmates, I would advise them to be organized, stay focused, study hard, and have fun.
