November's student of the month is Olivia Marshall from Missouri! An ambitious young student with a lot of promise, Olivia was nominated for her diligent work in her courses and her nearly flawless grades.
ICA: Describe yourself as a person.
Olivia Marshall: I'm fun to be with and a good friend. I also have a wild imagination.
ICA: What grade are you in, and what courses are you taking or will you take?
Olivia: I'm in 8th grade. I'm taking Bible, history, language arts, pre-algebra, and science.
ICA: How long have you been enrolled with ICA? What reasons do you have for enrolling with ICA?
Olivia: This is my third year attending ICA. I attended a private Christian school before that, but I like the flexibility that ICA offers.
ICA: What aspect of ICA do you enjoy the most?
Olivia: Being able to do homework and learn online is great! You can learn at your own pace, and the teachers and staff are so helpful. To have a Christian worldview puts Jesus and God in the center of everything that I am learning.
ICA: Describe your hobbies. What do you do for fun?
Olivia: I take drums at School of Rock in Kansas City. I will be performing in my first concert in January.
ICA: What are some of your favorites?
Olivia: My dad's burgers, fish and chips, and shrimp are my favorites. My favorite movie is The Avengers, and I like soccer, swimming, and basketball. My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
ICA: Are you a member of any organizations or church groups?
Olivia: I am in my youth group at church, and I hope to volunteer at an animal shelter next year.
ICA: Who is the most significant role model in your life? Why?
Olivia: Jesus, because as a Christian, I want to live like He lived and submit to God's will, not mine.
ICA: After what motto do you model your life?
Olivia: "If you dream it, you can do it" by Walt Disney.
ICA: Is there anything you have always wanted to do but haven't done yet?
Olivia: I would like to scuba dive and sky dive. I want to learn calligraphy and travel to other countries.
ICA: If you could meet anyone, who would that be and why?
Olivia: I would have liked to have met Walt Disney because he brought his cartoons to life.
ICA: What would others be surprised to learn about you?
Olivia: I like to build the Lego sets that have 4,000 to 5,000 pieces. I built the London Tower Bridge and will be working on the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van and R2D2 sets soon. I also like to build large sand castles on the beach.
ICA: How do you want to be remembered when people look back on your life?
Olivia: I would like to be remembered as someone who always helped others.
