Meet our June student of the month, Sarah Roberts. Sarah is a 7th grader who lives in the Caribbean and enjoys swimming, singing, and drawing during her free time.
My ICA Story
We learned about Ignite Christian Academy from my aunt. My mom decided to look into it because my brother and I needed a change. I have been surprised at the fact that I actually like online school because I don’t get to see my friends every day. Another thing that surprised me was when I was nominated for student of the month.
What I love about distance learning is the different teaching styles and that I have teachers from different places in the world. My favorite subject is language arts. I love writing essays, poems, and songs. Language arts allows me to express myself, and that is why I love it.
Hobbies and Activities
I am involved in a swimming club called Swift. My cousin was a competitive swimmer for Swift and I love swimming, so I asked my mom to put me in it. During my free time I swim, sing, draw, and watch YouTube videos.
Fun Facts
I have one brother who loves playing tennis and basketball. When we’re together, we like to pull pranks, swim, and watch basketball. People would be surprised to know that I love watching basketball and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Some might also be surprised to know that I am a shy person around people I don’t know, but once you get to know me you’ll find out that I am full of life and I laugh a lot.
Greatest Accomplishment
The accomplishment that I am most proud of is when I found out that I was one of the top ten in my 6th grade class and I spoke at my graduation.
Dream Job
I want to be a photographer. I love taking pictures of the sky, the clouds, the ocean, sunrises, and sunsets.
Words of Wisdom
My advice to my fellow classmates would be to never give up. If you get a bad grade, don’t let that bring you down. Keep trying and do your best! Know that God is always there for you.
