Our elementary student of the month at Ignite Christian Academy is our fifth-grade student, Temperince Torrance. Temperince has been with ICA since January 2023 and came to us after her mom completed research about online schools. She called ICA and quickly enrolled here! Temperince said “My favorite part of online learning is connecting with classmates during club meetings. I also enjoy seeing my teachers in Zoom meetings and receiving their help.”
Temperince’s teacher, Mrs. Scarbrough recommended her for this award stating, “Temperince is finishing up her first year here at ICA. She has been working very hard at increasing the depth of thought applied when answering constructed response questions! I am so proud of Temperince’s perseverance and dedication to her learning.”
What is your favorite subject and why?
Science has always been my favorite; it involves animals, and I love animals and learning about them.
Is there anything you’ve encountered while studying at ICA that has surprised you?
It has actually been a lot of fun, and it helped me with my confidence in some subjects.
Where do you live, and what do you enjoy about living there?
I live in Oklahoma on a farm/ranch. We have cattle and grow multiple crops. I have two horses and two dogs. I love being outside, going on horseback rides, and hiking along our creek with my two dogs.
How do you like to spend your free time?
I love horseback riding, riding our four-wheeler, hiking, spending time with my family, and going on mini vacations. I love to have friends over and go on picnics. I also love to doing art.
Do you have any siblings? If so, what kinds of things do you like to do together?
I am an only child. I love to meet up with my friends, go to adventure places, do the skywalk, trampoline jump, and rock wall climbing.
What would others be surprised to learn about you?
I am in dance ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater, and I love it too.
If you could have any job in the world, which one would you choose and why?
I want to train horses and teach others how to ride with confidence.
If you could offer advice to your classmates, what would it be?
Even when things are hard, Jesus is right beside you, helping you learn. No matter how scared you are, you will always find Jesus right beside you. You are never alone ever.
