Prerequisite(s):

Begin communicating in a new and meaningful way through the study of American Sign Language. This one-semester elective course introduces students to foundational vocabulary, expressive skills, and cultural awareness within the Deaf community.

In this course, students will learn:

  • Basic Signs & Greetings
  • Feelings, Colors, & Questions
  • School & Daily Vocabulary
  • Conversational & Performance Skills

Students practice introductions, build expressive language skills, and expand vocabulary through interactive lessons and real-life scenarios. Along the way, they develop confidence in visual communication while gaining appreciation for Deaf culture and inclusive communication.
