Discover how your interests and abilities can connect to meaningful career pathways. This one-semester CTE course introduces middle school students to the four service-focused career fields of health science, hospitality and tourism, human services, and consumer services. while building foundational workplace and problem-solving skills.

In this course, students will learn:

  • Career Fields History
  • Modern Advances
  • Social & Economic Roles
  • Research & Problem Solving

Students explore the history of healthcare and the impact of advances in science and technology, the economic roles of travel and tourism, and the history and function of human services within society. By exploring specific career paths in middle school, students have the opportunity to gauge their interest and enroll in more advanced career-specific courses in high school.
